International Worship Service on 18.01.2026 at 17:00

"Sing to the Lord a new song" - Music, meditation and more...

On Sunday, the 18th of January 2026, the third Braunschweig International Worship Service took place in the Evangelische Studierendengemeinde (ESG), in the direct vicinity of the university, at Pockelstraße 21, 38106 Braunschweig at 17:00 o'clock.

This time the service happened with a slightly different concept: greater emphasis was given to new songs for a sing-aong with all worshippers attending.

The singing was led by pop-cantor of the Ev.-luth. Landeskirche Karsten Russ (in the picture on the right side), and accompanied by a small band from the Biblical Encounters Group, the ESG and St. Johannis.

The response was very good - John, one of the members of the band, said for instance: "This is exactly what is was dreaming about - I am so glad that we worshipped in the way we did!"

The Biblical Encounters Group welcomes YOU !

On the fourth Friday of the month at 18:00 we welcome anyone, regardless of confessional or religious background, age or sexual orientation, who is interested to share insights, ideas, opinions and thoughts on biblical texts.

We meet alternatively in the rooms of St. Johannis Ev.-luth. Church, Leonhardstr. 39, 38102 Braunschweig and the International Student Congregation (ESG) in Pockelstr. 21, 38100 Braunschweig.

Usually, we start with some nice Indian and German food, get to know each other, share what has happened since our last meeting and do Bible sharing on the sermon text of the following Sunday. Following that we have a joint prayer incl. individual requests, sing a few songs and share the blessing.

We extend this invitation on behalf of English speaking members of St. Johannis from as well as members of the International Student Congregation of Braunschweig.

The dates for January 2025 - February 2026 are as follows:

Impressions from the recent International Worship Service

We really had a wonderful time of worship and fellowship at our International Worship Service on the 16th of November. Here are some impressions - enjoy!

Our Mission Statement:

“We are a group of international Christians from multicultural backgrounds currently living in Braunschweig (region) who want to worship the triune God in spirit and truth, on the basis of our reformatory tradition, through contemporary and traditional music, relevant sermons or testimonies, liturgical elements and honest prayers. We believe that the Word of God calls us to be open to all people, regardless of ethnic background, creed and sexual orientation. We believe that our united, yet diverse voices are important tools of witnessing to people in the Braunschweig region.”
